They can be used by patients who need to help control their decay rate or help stop lesions from progressing with the use of fluoride or tooth mousse, or medicaments that will help the gums.

Often, these same trays can be used for bleaching too  - so they offer some flexibility and dual aesthetic and preventative benefits.
